Domain name specific to the porn industry would have the advantage of facilitating the development of filtering tools for parents and institutions. Debate around. Xxx began in 2005 when it was originally approved. But the project was then blocked two years later under pressure from the Bush administration. ICM Registry has then brought the matter to court and won the case last February. ICANN has agreed to resume the debate and opened a public consultation which ends May 10. ICANN defends its slow process, explaining that it seeks to gather feedback from many people. The conclusion will be presented to the Board of Directors of the regulator on June 12th .It still remains unclear if and when a decision will be taken.
